DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a motivated, curious and talented System Engineer to join our Project Delivery team in the SRE Department.
This Job-Ad is also open to persons belonging to protected categories – pursuant to Law 68/1999.
What you will do
The Project System Engineer is responsible for the installation, the migration, the configuration, the tuning, and any other system project related task of Eidosmedia solutions. He supports the Project System Engineer Manager in defining a preliminary analysis (i.e., feasibility/budget analysis) and, when this is approved, he delivers the activity according to the existing Activity Plan.
The work activity includes:
Delivery of the assigned S&O project tasks according to a defined Activity Plan.
Producing written reports, providing the PM and the S&O manager with a status update of the assigned activity and warning about possible project risks
Support the devops function for the enhancement of system architecture design and deployment methodologies
To enhance the existing installation automated tools, according to the direct experience gained on the field
Installation review
Developing and executing test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reporting on findings and making recommendations for improvement.
Knowing how to obtain high availability (clustering, load balancing, ...) and identifying related hardware / software requirements
Support the Solution Architect function in the definition of backup and recovery policies for data and applications, aligning them to the agreed service level
Knowledge transfer about system characteristics of executed project to other colleagues and teams
Support to QA in preparation and upgrade of Test and Prod-like environment
Support to Marketing and Sales for demo environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical and Personal Profile
Extreme familiarity with UNIX / LINUX
Good knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl)
Deep knowledge of HA systems (Monit/RHCS)
Experience in using virtual platforms (VMWare, XEN, etc.)
Experience in managing Linux systems in Cloud (AWS, GCP, MS Azure, …)
Familiarity with storage systems (NetApp, EMC)
You have hands on experience in coding IaC Terraform + Ansible
Good knowledge of Web and Application Server (Tomcat, Nginx)
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and to analyze log
Good English communication skills
Listening and teamworking ability
Sense of responsibility
